ALKALIZING RAW ALMOND RED PEPPER DIP

This is an easy, delicious, nourishing and incredibly easy to digest dip! It’s another super simple recipe you can make in larger batches to bring to summer beach parties, picnics and potlucks! It can be served with cut up veggies, pieces of gluten free bread, or flax crackers. Did you know that almonds are one of the only alkalizing nuts?

Almonds are considered to be moderately alkaline-forming nuts. They provide more calcium than any other nut, and the high calcium content combined with magnesium is what makes almonds alkaline-forming. Almonds are also an excellent source of protein, potassium, iron, zinc and vitamin E, and a good source of antioxidant flavonoids. Like other nuts, almonds help reduce LDL cholesterol levels and offer protection against heart disease.

  • 2 large red bell peppers, seeds removed and cut into slices
  • 3/4 cup soaked and drained almonds (should soak 8 hours ideally)
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1 tsp Himalayan salt
  • 1 pinch of cayenne pepper

Directions

Add bell pepper and almonds to food processor. Add remaining ingredients and process until blended into a smooth mixture.
