RAW Walnut Raisin Cinnamon Squares

Here is a super easy raw vegan snack you can probably make right now! No need to every buy pre-packaged energy bars or snacks when you can make these. They also store very well in the refrigerator. Just four simple ingredients and a food processor and you’re done. This is the perfect raw vegan snack for kids too!

Did you know that you can get incredible amounts of iron from both dates and raisins? And that dates are one of the most alkaline of all foods, and contain a very unique type of soluble fiber called beta-D-glucan — which has been shown to decrease the body’s absorption of cholesterol, and to slow the absorption of glucose in the small intestine, helping to keep blood sugar levels even?  You can read a lot more about dates HERE

Here is your recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts
  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted and soaked for 30 minutes
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 teaspoons Ceylon cinnamon

Mix in a food processor until combined but not totally smooth. Press into parchment lined small glass pan (size depends on thickness of bars you prefer, I use a small pan to get thicker squares) and chill. Cut into squares and enjoy.
