While many cultures have appreciated this life-giving spice for centuries, many people are relative newbies to the healing powers of turmeric.
A true powerhouse spice, I always recommend to my personal clients and my community members that they make turmeric a regular, even daily, part of their life. I not only use in in cooked dishes and raw dishes, smoothies and of course I juice fresh turmeric in many of my juice recipes, but I also make turmeric tea often (it is a powerful component of my dental protocol), and also use turmeric powder as toothpaste and mouthwash.
This smoothie is easy to make, includes protein and Omega-3 rich hemp milk, along with potassium from the bananas, combined with the synergy of Ceylon cinnamon and turmeric. ENJOY!
- 1 cup fresh hemp milk
- 2 frozen bananas
- 1 orange, peeled
- 1 tbsp coconut nectar (or sweetener of choice)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 tsp turmeric
Blend well and enjoy! You will have incredible energy from this smoothie for at least two hours after consuming it, so I recommend it as a morning or early afternoon meal!
